"GRIT//SWITCH" was an entry to the 2022 Cal Poly Vellum Furniture Design Competition. Coinciding with the ideas of urban appropriation from the undergraduate thesis "Emergent Infrastructures", this light affords the user to manipulate the location, congregation, and pattern of the individual LEDs to produce varying effects from the raw steel face panel. The materiality is inspired by industrial and infrastructural systems that are characterized by heavy pedestrian use.
